Only students who choose to be assessed and satisfactorily complete all required assignments/assessments can be awarded a Statement of Attainment in the particular Unit(s) of Competency included in their course.
APPEALS
If your trainer assesses you as Not Yet Competent, (NYC) it may be that you need to provide further evidence of competency. An opportunity to re-submit will be given. No charge will be applicable in this instance. The only stipulation is that the opportunity to provide the trainer with more evidence must be actioned by you within the specified period as discussed with your trainer and/or the CEO.

If you disagree with this assessment, you are required to appeal within a two-week period from the date upon which you have been notified that your work has been assessed as NYC. After this period lapses, you shall need to re-enrol in the relevant Unit of Competency at your own cost.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING & RECOGNITION OF CURRENT COMPETENCY
The College accepts that some applicants may have vocational skills and expertise acquired from previous studies and/or from non-formal training. Hence, applicants/participants who believe they already have certain skills and/or knowledge to be covered in the training can, upon enrolment, apply to the College to have such skills or prior knowledge assessed. If the College finds that the applicant has indeed demonstrated through evidence that they hold relevant set of skills or knowledge that applicant may have the training program reduced accordingly. Applicants must provide evidence of skills, experience and aptitude that collocates with the competencies of a particular Unit of Competency.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the evidence provided is authentic, sufficient, current, relevant, valid and reliable (these terms shall be defined at the orientation session). Applicants for RPL /RCC will be advised that evidence may include work reports; work samples; references; statutory declarations; prizes; awards and commendations received in a relevant area; testimonials; documentation; and AQTF qualifications/statements of attainment. INSURANCE ARRANGEMENTS FOR LEARNERS IN WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
The College has both Public Liability and Accident Insurance for all of its clients. The insurance covers the clients during their period of training as well as for the period during which they may be participating in Practicum/Workplace training in a workplace environment arranged by the College. Before a client is sent to a workplace to start their Practicum period, the College will send the relevant industry facility an Introductory Letter and a copy of the College’s insurances.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY
The College has an OH&S Policy in place that is implemented on a continuous basis by all staff members. At the commencement of a course, trainers conduct an Introductory OH & S audit. The Introductory OH & S session has checklist pro forma, which is completed by the trainer and the participants. The list includes the identification of exit signs and the dissemination of the evacuation procedure. Location of toilet amenities, public telephones, and parking availability are also discussed.
The Introductory Check List also requires the trainer to inquire about any special medical conditions that he/she or the other participants may need to be aware of; participants can choose to inform the trainer in writing of any such condition and confidentiality is observed. The aim of this assessment is to ensure the College has identified any participant with special needs who may require the College to modify its training and assessment strategies in order to assist this participant to achieve competency.
