CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care Work
Prerequisite: Certificate III in Aged Care Work.
This qualification is suitable for those already working in the aged care industry and who wish to develop their skills to enable them to progress to positions such as hostel supervisors, personal care workers,care supervisors, social program co-ordinators,care team leaders and others positions of responsibility in a variety of settings including residential and centre-based facilities. During the course, you will learn how to provide best-practice services to groups of older people with complex needs including personal care and/or other activities of living. This qualification will be conducted over a 40-week period. Class times are every Thursday from 9 am - 2.30 pm
All learner guides and other learning material are included in the enrolment feeprovided however, if participants do not hold a current First Aid Certificate this must be completed during the course of study for a further fee of $135. All applicants must attend an interview prior to enrolment as well as successfully complete a VET English language assessment.

- CHCORG406A — Supervise work
- CHCOHS312A- Follow safety procedures for direct care work
Elective units of competency:
- CHCCS424A — Administer and monitor medications (Note Pre-requisites CHCCS305A,HLTAP301A)
- CHCDIS313A — Support people with disabilities who are ageing
- CHCINF408C — Comply with information requirements of the aged care and community care sectors
- CHCCM404A- Undertake case management for clients with complex needs
Important things to know:
This course can also be delivered in-house as professional development for staff at aged care facilities.
Before enrolling students MUST sit for a VET English test.
This qualifications can be payed in instalments by direct debit. The first installment is to be payed upon enrolment. Debit cards are not accepted.
