Body Waxing for Personal Application

This general-interest one-day workshop is suitable for anyone who wishes to learn the fundamentals of waxing at home for their own personal knowledge. It is not an accredited course.

Come along to learn and practise the different techniques and methods for strip and hot wax on legs, underarms, bikini and eyebrows. This course will cover standard hygiene and basic safety precautions. Workshop fee includes materials and use of equipment. Students practise procedures in pairs. Both males and females are welcome to join. The minimum age for participants is 18. Please note that participants must sign an insurance waiver.

WRBFS202B Design and apply make-up

This single Unit of Competency course is one of the electives within the WRB30104 Certificate III in Beauty Services. To gain the entire qualification students must complete 21 Units of Competency. If you have an interest in make-up and are working in the beauty industry or perhaps entertaining starting a career as a make-up artist this short course will allow you to gain skills which you can use for either personal or professional use and will also give you the chance to earn a nationally-recognised Statement of Attainment towards completion of the Certificate III. You must be aged 16 or over to enrol in this course. Those under 18 must gain their parents’ or guardian’s written permission in order to enrol in the course.

Introduction to the Beauty Industry

Nationally Recognised TrainingFrom WRB30104 Certificate III in Beauty Services

Units of Competency:
WRBSS302B Provide temporary epilation and bleaching treatments
WRRLP1B Apply safe working practices
WRBFS305B Provide lash and brow treatments
WRRER1B Work effectively in a retail environment

Students who successfully complete this four core Unit of Competencies from the qualification will be eligible to receive four Statements of Attainment towards partial completion of the whole qualification. Please note that in order to complete the whole Certificate III in Beauty Services certificate, students must complete 21 Units of Competency. Assessment within this program might include a range of approaches consisting of project work, demonstration of skills, role play, participation in discussions and debates, written and oral tests and questioning, research and assignments.
The course will include academic and practical demonstration lessons as well as self-directed learning. Students will be assessed on both components of the course and must be found Competent in both before being eligible for the relevant Statement of Attainment. The College cannot advise participants whether employers would offer participants employment in a beauty salon upon completion of these Units of Competency - this is entirely outside the College’s control. Employers may have minimum qualification requirements such as expecting applicants to have completed the entire 21-Unit WRB30104 Certificate III in Beauty Services.

You will learn to apply a simple day and evening make-up suited to your individual face shape and colouring. You will also be introduced to the world of mineral make-up and gain the confidence and the skills to apply your own make-up to suit each occasion.
Bring your current make-up and mirror and do NOT wear make-up.
