English - IELTS Preparation

IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. This test measures candidates’ ability to communicate in English in all of the four language skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking. Government departments such as the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) require IELTS results for Skilled Migration applicants. More than 17 Australian professional associations also require an IELTS test score for registration purposes. This preparation class will help people who intend to study, work or migrate here. Your fully-qualified English teacher will help you become familiar with the requirements of both the General Training and the Academic IELTS Modules and will guide you through each of the four skills areas, developing your learning strategies in responding to a range of questions and tasks. At the end of this part-time 14-hour course your teacher will identify the areas in which you need further development so that you can, as an adult learner, become better aware of what you will need to do in order to achieve your target score.

Entry requirements apply for this course. We recommend entry to students who have completed Level III of the Certificate in Spoken and Written English.

NOTE: All English enrolments must sit an English Assessment to guarantee that your chosen level of English is suitable. Proof of residency must be provided if you enrol as a permanent resident.
