Course Proposals
Bankstown Community College welcomes course proposals from professionally qualified tutors wishing to propose a course. However, due to the unprecedented number of course proposals received, please note that the College is unable to provide feedback on each proposal received. Your proposal will be considered within two weeks of receipt. If you have not received a response from us within 2 weeks please assume that your proposal has not been successful.
No further correspondence will be entered into with tutors.
Please read the following information regarding Course Proposals to the Bankstown Community College so you may better understand our requirements:
Upon forwarding a proposal, please state if you wish to propose an Accredited Course or a Non-accredited Course. Please include a current resume outlining your profile, relevant studies, qualifications and experience. Please include an outline of the proposed course stating:
- Length of course and session time
- Any materials or special arrangements which might be necessary for the indicated course
- A brief description of each class
- A brief description of the outcome of each class
- Any additional information you believe might be relevant to your proposal
Some of the following factors will be duly considered by BCC in making its decision on whether or not to proceed further with your course idea/proposal:
- Suitability
- Cost to students
- Cost of managing the course for the College (salaries/super/administration/overheads/marketing)
- Uniqueness
- Getting enough enrolments. Each course we conduct must fund itself
- How it fits with our overall program range
- Is the course a Unit of Competency on BCC’s VETAB scope of registration?
- Does the course include a nationally-accredited Unit of Competency?
- Practicality (i.e., do we have the necessary facilities/resources?). The College has limited room capacity at its headquarters and often the cost and time commitment required to hire and manage external premises negates the benefits of running the course.
All Course Proposals can be submitted by emailing? the College.
